Bodysgallen Hall |
|
Bodysgallen Hall is a delightful country
house hotel situated in 200 acres of wooded parkland on a hill
above the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno. Believed to have
13th century origins, the hotel enjoys magnificent views of Conwy
Castle and the mountains of Snowdonia. Amidst Bodysgallen Hall's
magnificent gardens and parkland are a rare 17th century parterre
of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a
cascade, a walled garden and several follies.
Bodysgallen Hall is well known for its comfortable and traditional
atmosphere, together with its well appointed guest rooms and
cottage suites. Within the main house are 19 sumptuous bedrooms
individually decorated, and furnished with antique furniture
and works of art. Each room also features a glorious view of
Bodysgallen Hall's parkland or gardens, with some enjoying further
reaching views of Conwy or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia.
Sixteen cottages, with picturesque names like Pineapple Lodge,
Dairy Cottage and Gingerbread House, are situated in the grounds,
and provide self-contained accommodation for guests preferring
a greater degree of privacy. Many cottages enjoy their own private
gardens, and some are in close proximity to the Bodysgallen Spa.
All are charming and delightful. |

Within the hotel itself there are a
range of attractive, individually decorated rooms, complete with
all modern facilities - and almost all with beautiful sea views.
These rooms retain the style and character of the historic inn.
The diners' and residents' bar adjoins the restaurant, upon whose
reputation the hotel has been built. With its convivial atmosphere
the restaurant has been warmly commended by leading guides for
the use of fine ingredients, original cooking and commitment to
the use of fresh local produce.
Located in a self contained part
of the building is the Fisherman's Bar, where locals and visitors
alike congregate to enjoy traditional ales, fine wines and imaginative
bar food, some locally caught! On warm days one can sit outside
by the sea wall and enjoy a drink and a meal from the bar whilst
admiring the view. During the cooler months a roaring log fire
welcomes visitors and the bar becomes the meeting place of the
village. |
