| The Dunvegan
Hotel |
|
|
The love for the game of golf inspired Jack & Sheena to aquire
"The Dunvegan Hotel" in 1994, and have since developed
this establishment into a great place to visit in St. Andrews.
The hotel is located a mere 112 yards from the Old Course, or
as our logo implies 'Only a 9-iron from the Old Course' (depending
on the wind!!). Jack a 4th generation Texan (Texas Aggie '72)
and his Scottish wife Sheena, both avid golfers, operate the hotel
'hands on". They and their staff offer the very best in friendly,
personalised service and really enjoy getting to know their customers
and talking golf with them. The Dunvegan can comfortabily sleep
16 golfers, but you don't have to stay here to enjoy the great
golfing atmosphere that is automatic when visiting the premises.
As one major golf publication writes; "The Dunvegan is truly
a golf lover's delight, and when you visit the famous golfer's
corner lounge bar, suddenly you are eating and drinking with the
ghosts of former open champions. What could be better!"

| The Gleneagles
Hotel |

Hotel |
|
The Gleneagles Hotel, just one hour's drive from both Glasgow and
Edinburgh, was built by the Old Caledonian Railway Company in 1924
in the heart of a beautiful Scottish glen. Set in an 850-acre estate
with its own railway station, it immediately won fame as one of
the world's finest hotels. It became a Mecca for the rich and famous,
attracting world leaders, from royalty and heads of state to film
stars and giants of commerce and industry.
Renowned for its championship golf courses - the King's and
Queen's ® Gleneagles now boasts an equally challenging complement
in the shape of the PGA Centenary Course designed by the legendary
golfer, Jack Nicklaus, and launched in style in May 1993. The
PGA Centenary has been selected to host the 2014 Ryder Cup. All
courses offer generous fairways, big greens, challenges for all
handicaps and superb views of the surrounding countryside.
But sporting opportunities at Gleneagles extend far beyond golf.
The Shooting and Fishing School, now the busiest of its kind in
the world, is based on a sporting layout, meaning that the paths
of the clays simulate the flights of game birds. The Gleneagles
Equestrian Centre, one the of world's finest equestrian facilities,
provides coaching for hotel guests and members, as well as running
a variety of equestrian events.
All weather tennis, squash, swimming, croquet, salmon and trout
fishing, cycling, off road driving and putting combine to offer
all year round activities to suit every taste and every level
of ability.
