Château des Vigiers
The Château:
Dating back to 1597, the Château known locally as "Little
Versailles", was the creation of Jean Vigiers, a Royal judge.
It is now completely restored with 25 guest rooms individually
designed and furnished in French Country House style.
In the "Les Dépendances" where local stone and
old beams have been used to great effect, we offer an additional
11 attractive suites and 11 guest bedrooms.
Château des Vigiers is the ideal venue for board meetings,
incentive trips and conferences as well as for wedding receptions
and functions.
The Region:
We organise wine tastings locally in the Bergerac and Monbazillac
areas as well as in Graves, Sauternes, Médoc, Pomerol and
the picturesque mediaeval town of Saint-Emilion.

Many guests enjoy the food markets in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande and
Bergerac. Others venture further afield to explore the old towns
and historic châteaux along the Dordogne valley and the
prehistoric caves, Lascaux among them, in the Sarlaat and Montignac
area.

it became the first luxury hotel in France. The hotel’s
elegance comfort and splendour won the admiration of
its guests.
In 1897, the impressionist painter, Camille Pissaro,
took up residence in one of the apartments of the hotel.
He painted several of his great paintings of Paris from
his window.
The atmosphere of this unique Parisian place, surrounded
by Le Louvre Museum, the Opera de Paris and La Comédie
Française, also inspired the great Sherlock Holmes
author who featured the Hotel du Louvre in several novels.
